Bodies of two men were found buried in a shallow grave inside a sugarcane field at Hacienda San Roque in Barangay Cubay, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Sunday (May 4).

PCapt. Rosenie Cabuena, La Carlota City deputy police chief, said the live-in partners of the victims came to the station and confirmed their identities.

The 32-year-old and 29-year-old fatalities were both residents of Barangay 6 in Bacolod City.

When found, one of them was naked and his face covered with masking tape while the other one was wrapped in a tarpaulin, according to the police.

Farm employee Reynaldo Pilar said he was conducting a roving patrol when he discovered a digging site, and about 50 meters away, another digging site was also found by residents.

Responding authorities unearthed the cadavers, which will undergo post-mortem examination.

Cabuena said there were no reports of missing persons in La Carlota City that they earlier raised the possibility the victims were from another place. | GB
