Two senior citizens were found dead in Manapla and Don Salvador Benedicto towns in Negros Occidental on Saturday, Oct. 7, one of them shot and killed by a still unidentified gunman, police records showed.
The body of the 61-year-old victim, a widower, was found at Purok Mahogany in Barangay Bagong Silang, Don Salvador Benedicto, with a gunshot wound in the head.
According to initial police investigation, the victim, whose identity has been withheld by the police, was reportedly on his way home to Purok Udyong in the barangay, when he was attacked by the unidentified perpetrator.
Meanwhile, the police ruled out a foul play in the death of an octogenarian at Lacson Street in Barangay II, Manapla.
The cadaver of the 86-year-old woman, whose identity was also withheld by the police, was already in advanced state of decomposition when found inside her home.
Her immediate family members said the old woman was living alone, and had hypertension and vertigo. | GB
