2 bodies found in Talisay City

Two bodies were found in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Friday (Aug. 29), bringing to five the number of persons separately found dead in the area since Aug. 11.

The bodies were already in advanced state of decomposition when found at about 6 p.m. at the grassy portion of First Farmers Holding Corp. parking area, according to a report of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).

One of the victims was wearing black shirt, denim shorts, and branded underwear while the other was in denim shorts without a top.

On Aug. 11, three dead men were separately found in barangays of Matab-ang and Concepcion also in Talisay City.

One of three victims was identified by the police as Mars Reles of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.

The Talisay City Police Station has yet to determine if the deaths of the five persons are connected with each other.

The PRO-NIR earlier created a Special Investigation Task Group to spearhead the probe, integrate all gathered intelligence, and coordinate with forensic experts for the speedy identification of the victims and resolution of the cases.

PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, said they have established some leads in the SITG investigation, but did not yet divulge the details. | GB
