Two personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) have been conferred the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (Heroism Medal) in recognition of their exemplary courage and dedication to duty as a result of the anti-drug campaign.

Honored on July 7 by the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) were PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez, chief of the BCPO City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), and Patrolman Rondel Macahipay, who is also assigned in the same unit.

The awards were presented by PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, who commended their bravery, professionalism, and unwavering commitment in the fight against illegal drugs.

The Medalya ng Kadakilaan is conferred upon Philippine National Police personnel who exhibit acts of heroism, above and beyond the call of duty, in pursuit of peace and order.

The recognition of CDEU personnel reflects the city police’s relentless campaign against illegal drugs and its continued commitment to protecting the community from the threats posed by drug syndicates, the BCPO said. | GB
