1,946,639 registered voters in NegOcc

The Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor said there are 1,946,639 registered voters in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City for the May 2022 elections.

The number of voters increased by 59,437, compared to the 1,887,202 electorate in the 2019 polls, Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria, provincial election supervisor, said.

The lone district of Bacolod City has the most number of voters at 327,403.

Local government units comprising the 3rd District have 313,671 voters, 6th District – 307,048, 5th District – 291,349, 1st District – 251,754, 4th District – 241,130, and 2nd District – 214,284 voters.

Ananoria said there are 743 polling centers in the province with 15,193 precincts, 12,289 of those are established precincts and 2,904 are clustered precincts.

Ananoria said they will also come up with the final list of candidates soon.

In Negros Occidental, no petition was filed to declare any candidate as nuisance, he added. –MML
