The month-long anti-drug campaign in March led to the arrest of 155 drug personalities in Negros Occidental, including the highly-urbanized Bacolod City, police records showed.
These included 105 suspects nabbed by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) and the 50 others netted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
BCPO also recovered P7.89 million worth of illegal drugs for the month of March.
PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, officer-in-charge of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), lauded the anti-drug campaign accomplishments of NOCPPO and BCPO.
Wanky encouraged the police units to continue fostering strong relationship with the community and enhancing the collaboration and coordination with the different government agencies and stakeholders.
“With their support, we can certainly identify those who opted to engage in the illegal activity and make them answerable of their actions,” he added.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
