A 14-year-old student died while his back-rider, also 14, sustained injuries after their motorcycle rammed into a concrete post along Sitio Lapak, Barangay 2, Ilog, Negros Occidental, Sept. 13.
The Ilog Municipal Police Station (MPS) said the incident occurred at around 11:10 a.m. while the victims were on board a black Honda TMX motorcycle, with no plate number, traveling from Ilog towards Kabankalan City.
Initial investigation showed that the minor driver lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to slide and crash directly into a roadside concrete post.
Ilog Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office responders rushed both victims to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan for emergency medical treatment.
The attending physician declared the driver dead on arrival while his back-rider, a resident of Sitio Malabong, Barangay Andulauan, survived with minor injuries.
The Ilog Police took custody of the motorcycle as part of the ongoing investigation and proper legal disposition. | TMD
