13 injured in road accidents

Thirteen persons were reported injured in separate vehicular accidents in Murcia and San Enrique towns in Negros Occidental over the weekend, police reports showed.

On Sunday, eight suffered injuries after the front tire of their rented vehicle came off along the highway in Purok Señora, Barangay Salvacion in Murcia.

The group were traveling from Calatrava to attend graduation rites of a family member at the Central Philippine Adventist College.

PMajor Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, said the passengers suffered minor injuries and were declared as outpatients in a medical facility they were brought for treatment.

On Saturday (June 7), the four-vehicle collision that occurred along the national highway in Purok Acacia, Barangay Tabao Rizal, San Enrique also led to minor injuries of five passengers, according to the police.

Involved were three Ceres Liner passenger buses and a private vehicle.

Those injured were all bus passengers.

Initial police investigation showed the driver of one of the buses lost control of the vehicle, which led to the collision. | GB
