The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has scheduled a 12-hour brownout on September 4, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. that will affect Calatrava and San Carlos in Negros Occidental.

In his letter to Atty. Danny Pondevilla, general manager of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative Inc., NGCP District 3 senior manager Zosimo Briones said the power outage due to the shutdown of portion of the Cadiz-San Carlos 69-kilovolt line will pave the way for the full line energization of the San Carlos-Guihulngan 69kV transmission line project and the realization of the load/supply shifting scheme.

Noneco, meanwhile, will conduct ride-on activities amid the NGCP scheduled outage, including the replacement of two rotten poles and the 69kV structures at Toboso, from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.

This will affect the whole coverage areas of Sagay and Escalante, and portion of Cadiz City, including barangays Tadlong, VF Gustilo, and Magsaysay.

The power coop will also replace the leaning tower of a 69kV structure at Hacienda Paz, Brgy. Tinampa-an in Cadiz City, its advisory showed./CGC
