At least 115 regular and job order employees of various local government offices in San Carlos City underwent a random drug test May 19, at the city auditorium.
The random testing, organized by the San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SCCADAC), led by its focal person, Ana Liza Macaraya, is part of the city’s commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace following the guidelines of the Civil Service Commission.

Employees tested included 41 from the People’s Park Management Office, 29 from the City Sports Office, 21 from the Parks and Plaza under the City Engineering Department, 19 from the City Planning and Development Coordinating Office, three from the San Carlos City Heritage, Culture and Arts Council, and two from the City Environment Management Office, the city said in a press release May 20.
Coach Dennis Peñalosa of the City Sports Office expressed confidence in his test results, saying he is not involved in any illegal drug use.
He added that surprise drug testing is a good initiative to ensure that government employees remain focused and effective in their duties. ||
