113 displaced workers receive TESDA help

One hundred thirteen displaced workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic are getting help from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority through its Special Training for Employment Program, Third District Rep. Francisco Benitez said.

Benitez said his office linked up with TESDA to provide livelihood skills training programs for displaced workers in the municipalities of EB Magalona and Murcia, and the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay.

          The trainings are in line with the Bayanihan 2 Recover as One Program of the national government.

          Orientation for 25 particpants  has already started in Victorias City last week for the production of organic fertilizer leading to organic agriculture program with an NC II certification, 

About 25 more trainees will attend the dressmaking NC II course in Silay City,  while  13 slots are available for E.B. Magalona residents, who may be interested  to train on shielded metal arc welding or SMAW NC I program.

The Ecological and Agricultural Development    Foundation, Victory Business College, Inc., and the Mirai Empower Foundation Corp. will serve as training providers.  

More training programs  on production of concoctions and extracts (leading to Organic Agriculture Production NC II) in Victorias City;  organic hog raising (leading  to Organic Agriculture Production NC II)  in Murcia;  and cookery NC II in Talisay City, are also expected soon. – GB
