109 police personnel in WV now COVID-free

A total of 109 personnel of the Philippine National Police in Western Visayas, including 15 from Negros Occidental, have recovered from the coronavirus disease as of Oct. 28.

Lt. Col. Joem Malong,spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6, however, said that while they have a high number of recoveries, the number of police personnel infected with COVID-19 already reached 128 as of Wednesday this week.

The death toll remained at one with 18 active cases, the PNP said.

Based on the COVID-19 report issued by PRO 6, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office ranked No. 1 with 27 positive cases, while the Bacolod City Police Office and Regional Police Holding Accounting Unit have 26 and 25, respectively.

The PRO 6 report added that 15 of the 27 NOCPPO personnel, who turned out positive already recovered.

The BCPO, on the other hand, has 16 recoveries, out of 26 cases.

The Iloilo City Police Office also recorded 15 cases, Iloilo Police Provincial Office, 14; Police Regional Office 6 headquarters, 9; Non-Uniformed Personnel,  8; Capiz Police Provincial Office, 3, and Aklan Police Provincial Office, 1.

The Guimaras Police Provincial Office remains COVID-19 free, the PNP added. GPB
